Priority Pass

Priority Pass is designed to help save travelers from busy airports, overpriced and limited food options and uncomfortable seating. The membership offers access to comfortable lounges with free food, drinks, and Wi-Fi. If you have a Capital One Venture X card, you get this membership for free with your annual fee, which gives you access to 1,700 lounges in the U.S. and worldwide to make comfort a priority.

The easy-to-use app provides instructions for you to find lounge locations sorted by airport and terminal. However, during busy times, lounges can fill up quickly, so some locations offer a pre-book option to secure a spot for a small fee. Be mindful that lounges don’t allow guests in unless their next departure is in three hours or less to limit overcrowding. It’s also an option to bring a guest for a fee.

Capital One Lounge

The Capital One Lounge is my favorite. With the Capital One Venture X card, you get access to these lounges for free by showing your eligible card at check-in. You can bring up to two guests with no extra cost, and children under 2 are complimentary. Any additional guest would be a $45 fee for entry.

These lounges offer more luxury than the Priority Pass ones, including features like relaxation rooms, showers, fitness areas, workspaces, and chef-inspired food and drinks, including alcohol. If you’re in a hurry, there’s a grab-and-go station for quick snacks. Currently, there are Capital One lounges in Denver (DEN),Washington D.C. (IAD and DCA), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), and more are opening soon, including in New York City (LGA and JFK) and Las Vegas (LAS).
