Cancun Guide

Mexico is a popular international destination due to its large selection of all-inclusive resorts. It’s a great place to visit for any birthday, holiday, anniversary, or even to relax. We ultimately chose Cancun for the clear-water beaches. With the rise of crime in Mexico, I’d travel cautiously and recommend not leaving the resort. Always pay attention to your surroundings and book airport transportation in advance through the resort or a reputable third-party. All-inclusive resorts provide the ideal vacation for people who want minimal planning and stress-free finances!

We booked this trip through Expedia. It’s not my normal go-to search engine, but we got an awesome bundle for a6-night stay and round-trip flights. After extensive research and consideration, we chose the Hyatt Zilara Cancun. What initially stood out about this resort was the design of the hotel.  Every room offered at least a partial “ocean view.” Since all the rooms faced the beach, we felt we got more value for our money with the private terraces and view. The room was spacious with a double jetted tub and had a small separate door for room service. The thoughtful design and touches elevated our experience as a guest.

When my now husband and I visited Cancun back in 2019, we had the absolute best time. It’s a great place to travel on a budget and we loved that our resort was adults-only. We didn’t have to worry about screaming kids the entire time! If you’d like to travel with your kids, a great alternative would be Hyatt Ziva Cancun. It’s their sister resort that offers similar amenities and even includes a Kids Club to entertain your little ones. Throughout our stay, the staff provided exceptional service from the servers to housekeeping. I feel all-inclusive resorts can be hit or miss regarding the offerings and service, but this one did not disappoint! They did an impressive job and they had a great selection of food and beverages.

The Hyatt has six dining options which serve cuisine fromMexican to Asian. Several resorts only have one or two so this was a differentiator to have variety throughout our stay. Not only was the food selection good, but they also served unlimited drinks which included top-self liquors and wines. When we were lounging by the pool, serves would come around to take orders or there was a swim-up bar in the pool for convenience. Since we went in August, it was quite hot, so we spent the majority of our time in a poolside or oceanfront cabana with a refreshing cocktail.

There was entertainment in the evening including live music and performances with five different bars and lounges. Since we spent so much time in the sun, we never stayed up too late, and sometimes preferred to call room service. The room service was available for 24 hours which was nice to enjoy a meal from our private balcony.

Another great amenity was the Sky Gym. It was rarely busy and it was full of state-of-the-art equipment. You could even enjoy the heated infinity pool that had loungers available. It was a great way to start the day. There was also a spa on-site that offered daily services and a relaxing, tranquil environment. In addition to spa services, they have full-service salon services like waxing, hair care, and nail care. These treatments are an additional cost, but they have just about any service you may want.

Overall, this resort has everything you may want all in one place. We had a great week here and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Cancun. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we never felt the need to leave. Check their website for any special offers, you don’t want to miss out on a good deal!
